One of the most anticipated car releases of the year is finally here—the Porsche 911 GT3 RS has been unveiled.

The Porsche 911 GT3 is a much-coveted car, featuring a 4.0-litre six-cylinder engine and much more.

However, the 2023 GT3 RS model is set to be even more impressive, placing more focus on aerodynamics and technologies used in motor sport.

News of the car may have just broken, but plenty of people are already wondering how they can get their hands on this new model.

If you were eager to drive one this year, then unfortunately you'll be disappointed. "The 2023 911 GT3 RS is expected to arrive at U.S. dealers by Spring, 2023," Porsche says. This car will set you back a starting price of $223,800 excluding $1,450 for processing, delivery and handling.

According to Porsche, the 2023 911 GT3 RS is uncompromisingly designed for maximum performance. The 518 hp road-legal high-performance sports car takes full advantage of technology and concepts from motorsport.

It is above all the cooling and aerodynamic systems of the 911 GT3 RS that connect it most directly with its motorsport brother, the 911 GT3 R, the automaker says.

The basis for a significant performance boost is the concept of a central radiator—an idea first used in the Le Mans class-winning 911 RSR and subsequently in the 911 GT3 R.

Continuously adjustable wing elements in the front and on the two-part rear wing, combined with other aerodynamic measures, provide more than 900 pounds of downforce at 124 miles per hour, three times as much as a current 911 GT3.

The 911 GT3 RS can accelerate from zero to 60 miles an hour in three seconds, reaching a top speed of 184 miles an hour in seventh gear.

The 4.0-liter naturally aspirated engine has been further improved compared with the 911 GT3. The increase in power to 518 hp is achieved mainly by new camshafts with modified cam profiles. The single-throttle intake system and the rigid valvetrain are derived from motorsport.

The seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung transmission has a shorter overall gear ratio than the 911 GT3 and is aided by air intakes on the underbody to ensure that the transmission can withstand even extreme loads during frequent use on track, Porsche says.

Thanks to lightweight construction measures such as the extensive use of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), the 911 GT3 RS weighs in at just 3,268 pounds.

The doors, front quarter panels, roof and hood are made of CFRP. Lightweight CFRP is also used in the interior, including the standard full bucket seats, trimmed in black leather and Race-Tex joining carbon fiber trim throughout the interior.
